Dans le cadre de l’exposition de l’artiste taïwanais Chen Chin-Pao à la Galerie Valland-Jaujard de notre établissement, les élèves de troisième ont eu la chance de participer à une rencontre exceptionnelle en visioconférence avec l’artiste, en direct depuis Taipei, tandis que nous étions à Saint-Gervais-d’Auvergne.

 

 

Ce projet pluridisciplinaire, mené conjointement par Madame Bernard, professeure d’anglais, et Monsieur Nivaggioli, professeur d’arts plastiques, a permis aux élèves de préparer et conduire une interview entièrement en anglais autour du travail et du parcours de l’artiste.

 

 

Grâce à un important travail de préparation en cours d’anglais, les élèves ont su poser des questions pertinentes avec beaucoup de sérieux et d’enthousiasme. Leur participation a été remarquable : attentifs, investis et curieux, ils ont pleinement profité de cet échange culturel unique.

 

 

De son côté, Chen Chin-Pao s’est montré particulièrement disponible et généreux dans ses réponses, jouant le jeu avec simplicité et bienveillance. Cette rencontre a offert aux élèves un moment privilégié d’ouverture artistique et culturelle, mêlant pratique de la langue anglaise et découverte du monde de l’art contemporain.

 

Un très joli moment de partage, riche en échanges, qui restera un beau souvenir pour tous les participants.

An Artistic and International Meeting with Chen Chin-Pao

As part of the exhibition of Taiwanese artist Chen Chin-Pao at the Valland-Jaujard Gallery in our school, the Year 10 students had the opportunity to take part in a very special videoconference with the artist, live from Taipei while we were in Saint-Gervais-d’Auvergne.

This cross-curricular project, led jointly by Mrs Bernard, English teacher, and Mr Nivaggioli, Art teacher, gave students the chance to prepare and conduct an interview entirely in English about the artist’s work and career.

Thanks to the preparation work carried out in English lessons, the students were able to ask thoughtful and relevant questions with confidence and enthusiasm. Their participation was outstanding: attentive, involved and curious throughout the exchange.

For his part, Chen Chin-Pao was extremely kind and generous with his answers, fully engaging with the students in a warm and friendly way. This meeting offered students a unique opportunity to combine English practice with the discovery of contemporary art and Taiwanese culture.

It was a wonderful moment of sharing and cultural exchange, and a memorable experience for everyone involved.
